Learn T-SQL With Erik: Time Zones and Offsets
In this video, I dive into the world of time zones in SQL Server, explaining how to handle and convert date and time data correctly. I cover the nuances of using 'datetimeoffset' and 'switch offset' functions, and discuss the importance of storing time zone information versus UTC offsets. This is part of the ongoing Learn T-SQL series, where I share practical knowledge and tips for working with SQL Server. If you're dealing with time zones in your database and need a better understanding of how to manage them, this video is for you. Additionally, I announce the latest update to my free SQL Server and Postgres performance monitoring tool, which now supports Aurora Postgres. Be sure to check out the video description for more details and links to explore this powerful tool further.
