ClickStack Demo Day (2026-08-28) - Release notes in the product

The Help menu's "What's new" panel was built from the app's per-PR changesets, which have no notion of which change mattered. It keyed on a feat: prefix, so v2.36.0 listed three dashboard-variable entries and mentioned neither formulas nor the alert work the release was actually about. It now reads the root CHANGELOG.md, the release-level summary written and reviewed on the release PR, and the release generator writes the headline that titles each release in the panel. You get the headline feature of the release plus breaking changes, new features, bug fixes and improvements as lines you can click through to the changelog itself. The Help button sparkles when there are notes you haven't read. It's an animated SVG with no JavaScript behind it. The seen key is the newest release version in the changelog rather than the app's build version, so a deployment that stamps a git SHA or a CI build number into its version string no longer makes the nudge fire on every deploy. Once that happens it stops meaning anything. The release notes format is changing a little too, so expect more of these to show up. Part of the ClickStack Demo Day series.
