Financial Market Preview - Tuesday 27-Oct
US equity futures were mixed, with S&P essentially flat. The AI trade showed renewed strength while big tech delivered a patchy performance. Markets were also watching fixed income: the US 10‑year yield held at around 5% after a choppy prior session, Bunds eased about 2 bps to 3.4% and Gilts remained near 5.35%. The dollar firmed. Commodities were tilted higher — WTI crude rose roughly 0.5% to just above $102/bbl, while gold slipped and industrial metals traded mixed. Bitcoin declined. Investors are looking past the latest Middle East developments. Crude has eased slightly from recent highs on hopes for a diplomatic resolution to US–Iran tensions after senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan met Iranian leaders in Tehran on Monday to defuse the situation. Still, expectations that kinetic action could resume after the November midterms are growing as elections approach. Companies mentioned: Microsoft, Dollar General, Skydance
