Gemini Notebook MCP v0.15.0 adds Credential Protection. Your saved Google login (cookies and session tokens) used to live in plain JSON files. Now it can be AES-256 encrypted, with the key in your OS keychain. Install / upgrade: uv tool install --force notebooklm-mcp-cli Turn it on: 'nlm auth storage set protected' or use the 'nlm setup' wizard Check it: nlm auth storage status Optional and reversible (nlm auth storage set file). New logins now ask you to choose Protected or Plain before the browser opens. Needs an unlocked OS keystore, so servers, cron and Docker can stay on the plain file.
