Kestra is built in the open, with more than 1,600 contributors across the core engine, plugins, UI, and documentation. Over time, this community has played a key role in shaping how Kestra evolves. In this live session, Amara our Developer Advocate, invites Kestra contributors to join the conversation and share their experience building and contributing to the project. Together, they’ll discuss how contributors got started, how they approached a large codebase, what working on plugins and triggers looks like in practice, and how collaboration with maintainers works day to day. The discussion will also touch on what contributors enjoyed, what challenged them, and what they learned along the way, from writing tests and handling backward compatibility to deciding what to work on after a first PR. This session is designed as an open, honest discussion, not a product demo. It’s a chance to hear directly from the people who help build Kestra and get a realistic view of what contributing to an open-source orchestration platform looks like.
