Automate Your Work | dbt Summit 2026 Keynote

Prefect and Dagster. Two rival data orchestration companies, born the same year, are joining forces. It started with a toy car. Jeremiah's first company tested risk in robots, but the data wouldn't stay connected. That problem became Prefect. Dagster launched right alongside it, chasing the same gap from another direction. Years of competing pushed both companies further than either would have gotten alone. Machines used to reach a handful of systems. Now they need to reach everything, and orchestration has to keep up. We built the way in (ahem, FastMCP) and we're not done. Played live at dbt Summit 2026, Las Vegas. Prefect. Automate your work.
