@petoicamp just launched the Quaddle on Kickstarter, and I got one early sample to test it out! By swapping expensive knee servos for a spring-and-bearing mechanism, they've managed to bring the (kickstarter) price down to $99 without losing the ability to do standard robot moves. I've been testing the "Buddy" version, flashing Tuya firmware to see how it plays with my home automation, testing its conversational abilities and built-in motions. I tested it for a few days and feel I only scratched a surface.
