Jev: Is This Tool Call Ready?

Everyone's talking about Jev, the new System 1 model that's fast and cheap because it does one forward pass and returns typed decisions instead of generating text. You can't build an agent out of Jev, but you can put Jev inside an agent to catch bad tool calls before they run. That's what I built. Github repo: https://go.aws/4hLedhp Prompt used: Create a single-file teaching demo that uses the actual Strands Interventions API to show how Jev can evaluate a proposed tool call before it runs. Implement a small InterventionHandler with before_tool_call, and have it send the current conversation plus the proposed tool call to Jev. Ask Jev several narrow classification questions such as whether the tool matches the user's intent, whether required information is missing, whether the arguments are grounded in the conversation, and whether the call is premature. Keep Jev as the semantic classifier only: use ordinary deterministic Python if statements to convert those classifications into typed Strands intervention decisions such as Guide(...) or Proceed(). Register the intervention using the agent's interventions=[...] configuration rather than manually mutating a hook event. Use one simple tool and one deliberately incomplete user request so the developer can clearly see the flow: model proposes tool call → Jev classifies it → Python policy decides → intervention returns Guide or Proceed.
