(Peta Muir) Breathing is something we all do, tens of thousands of times a day, without even thinking. Should be pretty straightforward to animate, right? To answer that question, I made an interactive breathing simulator - a blob that 'breathes' like a human - using the Python Arcade library and techniques for modeling human breathing dynamics based on the scientific research. Turns out there's a lot more to what keeps us alive than first meets the eye. https://2026.pycon.org.au/schedule/FCLJP9/ python, pycon, australia, programming, conference, technical, developers, panel, sessions, libraries, frameworks, community, sysadmins, students, education, data, science Videos licensed as CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 PyCon AU is the national conference for the Python programming community, bringing together professional, student and enthusiast developers, sysadmins and operations folk, students, educators, scientists, statisticians, and many others besides, all with a love for working with Python.
