It connects Slack mentions to a self-hosted Claude Code or Codex CLI agent while MFS provides authorized context from selected work sources. Why Open Tag: ✦ Slack-native delegation — start an agent task by mentioning @OpenClaude or @OpenCodex ✦ Self-hosted agent backend — run tasks through your authenticated Claude Code or Codex CLI session ✦ Cross-source context — retrieve authorized information from Slack, local files, GitHub, websites, and other MFS connectors ✦ Scoped access — control which indexed sources the agent can search with MFS_ALLOWED_SCOPES ✦ Natural-language setup — use the open-tag-admin skill to configure the backend, connectors, and bridge ✦ Open-source reference — inspect, adapt, and extend the complete workflow for your own agent applications In this first video, we install the open-tag-admin skill, describe the desired Slack bot setup in natural language, choose the agent backend, configure permitted context from local code, GitHub, selected Slack channels, and a blog, and launch the ingest jobs. We also explain how the Socket Mode bridge, MFS scopes, credentials, and source permissions fit together before Open Tag begins accepting tasks in Slack. Open Tag is a lightweight reference implementation rather than a production-ready replacement.
