We will walk through architecture decisions, transport internals, TLS design (including Homa TLS 1.3 flow), and benchmarking patterns for unary and bidirectional streaming workloads. Through real user stories and case studies, we will cover what worked, what failed, and what changed in kernel, networking, and app layers to get reliable low-latency behavior. Attendees will leave with practical guidance to evaluate, prototype, and operate alternative RPC transports without abandoning existing gRPC service contracts.
