Skills are packaged instructions that make AI coding assistants (Claude, Cursor, etc.) experts at specific Confluent workflows. Instead of an LLM guessing how to write a Kafka producer or set up a CDC pipeline, skills guide it through the right patterns — proper Schema Registry usage, security config, error handling, and all. You can use Confluent Skills in two ways: 1. Direct — type /skill-name (e.g. /kafka-streams-programming) to invoke a specific skill on demand 2.
