Claude + SWIRL over MCP: Federated Enterprise Search From the CLI

A real, unedited claude -p session. We gave the Claude CLI three SWIRL tools over MCP and one prompt, then recorded what happened. - list_providers returns 32 sources, from Microsoft 365 to databases to the web, as a native tool call. - One search call federates the query: 288 million hits, ranked, with scores, authors, and provenance. - search_rag returns a grounded answer with citations and click-to-highlight deep links into the source documents. Unprompted, Claude also flagged that three versions of the policy were in circulation across two systems. Agents with real retrieval notice real problems.
