Keynote: JupyterHealth: Transforming Digital Health Ecosystems - Ida Sim, UCSF and UC Berkeley
Keynote: JupyterHealth: Transforming Digital Health Ecosystems - Ida Sim, UCSF and UC Berkeley JupyterHealth is an open platform extending the Jupyter ecosystem into healthcare by integrating patient-generated data, clinical workflows, and computational research in an interoperable, standards-aligned architecture. JupyterHealth is fully modular, with primary components focusing on (1) privacy-preserving real-time data acquisition from wearables and apps using IEEE and HL7 FHIR standards, (2) secure storage and authentication consistent with institutional access protocols, (3) management and analysis, using Jupyter Hub and composable Notebooks, and (4) clinical workflow integration, leveraging ubiquitous SMART on FHIR APIs for EHR integration. This talk will introduce why JupyterHealth is needed and will provide an overview of the platform and current work. With reusable APIs, consent-aware patient onboarding, identity-aware access controls, and composable, notebook-driven tooling, JupyterHealth provides a reproducible, extensible, and scalable foundation for AI-driven health care transformation.
