DataHub Context Platform demo: AI agent with and without DataHub context

This demo shows exactly what happens when an AI agent has relevant, reliable, and trusted context — and what happens when it doesn't. If you're building or evaluating AI agents, this is the clearest illustration of why context quality determines answer quality. Two agents receive the identical question against the identical data warehouse at the same moment. The agent connected to DataHub's Context Platform locates the canonical table, resolves the correct glossary term for "engagement," and returns a clean, ranked answer in 7 seconds across two tool calls and 200,000 tokens. The agent without context does what ungrounded agents reliably do: it guesses. It iterates across dev branches, samples deprecated tables, and ultimately produces a confident answer referencing customers that don't exist — in 52 seconds, across 22 tool calls and 1.1 million tokens. That's 5.5x the token cost for a hallucinated result. The demo surfaces a concept DataHub calls context quality: a score assigned to each agent interaction based on how well the context layer grounded the agent's reasoning. The grounded agent scores four out of five. The ungrounded agent scores two out of five. Same model, same prompt, same warehouse. The only variable is context. DataHub's Context Platform works by exposing a unified context layer to agents at query time, including glossary terms, canonical table definitions, ownership, and lineage. Rather than forcing an agent to explore schema space to orient itself, the Context Platform resolves ambiguity before the agent makes its first tool call. The result is fewer tool calls, lower token spend, and answers grounded in verified, up-to-date context rather than inferred or hallucinated schema.
