pgEdge AI DBA Workbench Introduction

pgEdge AI DBA Workbench: AI-powered PostgreSQL monitoring, anomaly detection, and diagnosis for any Postgres 14+ instance. Free and open source under the PostgreSQL License. Managing Postgres at scale means drowning in noise, missed alerts, and no quick answers when something goes wrong at 2am. The AI DBA Workbench is a self-hosted, open-source monitoring suite that acts as a force multiplier for your DBA team combining 34 built-in probes, three-tier anomaly detection, and an optional AI assistant that walks through diagnosis step by step. One dashboard for all your instances, AI-powered alerting that learns your usage patterns, built-in AI reports on every metric, and Ellie, the optional AI agent who reads alerts in context and recommends the specific fix rather than a generic suggestion. She can run EXPLAIN ANALYZE, inspect schemas, query historical metrics, and walk through multi-step diagnostic workflows. You review, you decide. Works with any PostgreSQL 14+, including: Community Postgres, Amazon RDS, Aurora, Supabase, Google AlloyDB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server, pgEdge Cloud, self-hosted, on-premises, and fully air-gapped environments (local inference with Ollama, LM Studio, llama.cpp, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint). LLM support: Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini, and local models. Prefer to run without AI features entirely? The Workbench works as a traditional monitoring stack too. No agent installation required. Connects over the standard PostgreSQL wire protocol. Built by the creator of pgAdmin. Your data never leaves your infrastructure.
