The Azure Cosmos DB Linux emulator runs as a Docker image on Linux, macOS, and Windows - across x64 and ARM64. It gives you a local Cosmos DB instance for inner-loop development, CI tests, and more. In this video, I walk through a couple of new features: • Azure Cosmos DB Shell bundled in the emulator image — drop .csh scripts into /init and the container boots up with your databases, containers, and seed data already in place. • Vector search running fully locally — a LangChain + Ollama example that chunks Markdown docs, embeds them, stores them in the emulator, and answers natural-language queries over them. 📖 Read the full blog post: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/cosmosdb/announcing-general-availability-of-the-azure-cosmos-db-vnext-emulator 🔗 vNext emulator docs: https://learn.microsoft.com/azure/cosmos-db/emulator-linux Pull the image, take it for a spin, and let us know what you think!
