Accelerating Engineering Design with Agentic AI
Generative AI can create code, tests, and implementation plans quickly. Engineers still need to understand the design, evaluate alternatives, and demonstrate that requirements have been met. Learn how engineers combine their domain knowledge and design intent with agentic AI, MATLAB®, and Simulink®. AI can reason about a problem and propose changes, while MATLAB and Simulink supply the modeling, simulation, testing, and visualization capabilities used to evaluate those changes. This video shows an example of this in action, where an AI agent is directed to analyze a design, isolate the cause of a bug, generate a test case, and propose a fix. MATLAB and Simulink execute simulations, validate behavior, and provide the engineering evidence needed to review results, evaluate alternatives, and determine whether the design meets requirements. By working with MATLAB and Simulink, agentic AI operates within the same engineering process used today to model systems, test behavior, verify requirements, and make design decisions. Engineers remain in charge while AI automates more of the supporting work. The same engineering process then covers more designs, more tests, and more iterations.
