Mojo 1.0 is finally here, the compiler is now open source, and Qualcomm has acquired Modular, but the bigger question is whether Mojo actually delivers on its promise of Python-like code with much higher performance across CPU and GPU workloads. In this video, I test Mojo 1.0 on an M4 Pro, compare real performance against pure Python and NumPy, compile and run a GPU kernel on a MacBook, and dig into the 68,000× faster-than-Python claim that helped put Mojo on the map. 🔗 Relevant Links Modular - https://mojolang.org/ Mojo Repo - https://github.com/modular/modular/tree/main Mojo Docs - https://mojolang.org/docs/ ❤️ More about us Radically better observability stack: https://betterstack.com/ Written tutorials: https://betterstack.com/community/ Example projects: https://github.com/BetterStackHQ 📱 Socials Twitter: https://twitter.com/betterstackhq Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/betterstackhq/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@betterstack LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/betterstack 📌 Chapters: 00:00 Mojo 1.0 Is Finally Here 00:28 What is Mojo Language? 01:00 Testing Mojo 1.0 on a MacBook 02:40 What Mojo 1.0 Actually Means 04:20 Qualcomm Bought Modular — What Changes? 05:00 Mojo’s 68,000× Faster Than Python Claim 05:25 Mojo vs Python vs NumPy Benchmarks 06:30 How Stable Is Mojo 1.0 Really? 07:15 Who Should Actually Use Mojo?
