ClickHouse 26.7 expands the supported DateTime64 range from 1900–2299 to 0000–9999. In this video, I load nearly 20,000 events from Wikipedia's "On This Day" pages into ClickHouse. We use the url table function, JSONAsObject, and the JSON data type to explore dates that fell outside the old range, from ancient history to synthetic events in the distant future. We also use age and dateDiff to calculate the gap between the first successful telephone test in 1876 and the first iPhone in 2007: 131 years, or just under 48,000 days.
