Chat vs. Engine: Two Ways to Bring AI Into Your Lovable App

In this 30-minute session, I'll walk through two AI features I built in Lovable that work completely differently — so you can pick the right pattern for your own project. First, Coach Julia AI — a real, streaming chat coach inside my platform. I'll show how Lovable's built-in AI tools handle the whole conversation end to end, including how the coach actually "remembers" who's talking to it. Then, Threshold — an AI app with no chat at all. The AI runs behind the scenes to build personalized career pathways, and I connected it to a research tool (perplexity) so the recommendations are based on real companies, not made-up ones. I'll explain why I split the work across two different AI tools and what I learned about making AI feel like a real product feature instead of a chatbot bolted on.
