For Data Drill #13: "Cart Combos", we're testing our experts' ability to uncover the most frequently co-purchased product pairs from a large grocery transaction dataset. The dataset contains one year of point-of-sale transactions from a grocery store, with approximately 88,000 line items across 20,000 customer orders. The task is to identify the five product pairs that appear together most often across transactions. The catch: pairs are unordered, meaning (A, B) and (B, A) count as the same pair, and each pair is counted only once per transaction, regardless of how many units were purchased. That means the experts need to generate every valid two-product combination per order without double-counting. Each expert will be on the clock as they solve the drill, and the best solution takes the crown.
