Kimi K3.1 Pro is here. Is this the new king of open-source AI for 3D? Moonshot just released the model, and the company’s own benchmark numbers look crazy. I wanted to see what it could actually do, so I tested it against Claude Opus 5.5, Gemini and DeepSeek. The task was to animate a sheet of paper folding itself into a 3D origami crane. Kimi went for more detailed folds and finished second in this test.
