Understanding Autonomous Decision-Making for Agents
Most people think AI agents are simply language models with access to tools. In reality, the value comes from their ability to make autonomous decisions. They must determine what information they need, whether their knowledge is complete and current, and what actions will produce the best outcome. That ability to think through a task and act independently is what separates an agent from a chatbot.
