Pixels are location now. Be careful posting photos of your balcony.

Pixels are effectively location data now. I took one photo from a balcony in Austin. Then I ran it through MultiSet AI against a public 3D map of the city, and it found the exact building and floor I was standing on. Here's how it works: GPS listens to invisible satellite signals. A visual positioning system (VPS) matches the visible world your camera sees against a 3D model of the world. Match enough features and you get position and orientation, down to the floor. I worked on Google's visual positioning system, so I know how real this is and how dual-use it has become. It's incredibly useful for AR and robotics. It also gets creepy quick. Be careful posting photos looking out your window. #osint #augmentedreality #computervision
