Real-Time, Real Impact: Spotify Advertising’s RAPID Dashboard | RTA Summit 2025
The Core Insights team at Spotify Advertising R&D created the Real-Time Ads Product Impact Dashboard (RAPID) to provide non-engineering stakeholders self-service insights on the ongoing performance of the ad serving systems. The dashboard augments existing real-time engineering telemetry tools like Grafana by putting live analytics in a Tableau-based interface tailored to business stakeholders. The dashboard has been particularly useful during production incidents, by allowing business stakeholders to assess the impact in a self-service way without stealing cycles from on-call engineers, who can focus on triaging and fixing the issue. Discover key design considerations that make RAPID accessible to business stakeholders, as well as the socialization process that drove its adoption. RAPID simplifies anomaly detection by using historical comparisons of trends and totals to easily highlight deviations. We will also discuss how stakeholder use shaped RAPID’s features, such as optimizing for screenshot-friendly designs that retain essential context and quick filter buttons for instant application of common views.
