pgEdge Postgres MCP Server Demo
Join our solutions engineer Paul Rothrock as he walks through pgedge-postgres-mcp: a MCP Server for PostgreSQL that's 100% open-source and compatible with any new or existing PostgreSQL database (including community PostgreSQL variants and Amazon RDS). 🌐 It's available on GitHub, check it out: https://github.com/pgEdge/pgedge-postgres-mcp In the video, he'll discuss: ➡️ What's the MCP Server for PostgreSQL, and what makes it different? ➡️ Why use a MCP server instead of connecting the database directly to the AI? ➡️ How to get started with the project At a high level, the MCP server is highly performant and fully featured. LLMs and agents are provided a secure connection to access your PostgreSQL databases and obtain detailed information about them, so they can properly reason about the data, schema, and performance metrics held within. Plus, we designed the whole thing to ensure you are getting maximum efficient token usage. Our team has worked hard to make the experience easy for you. This means you can download the server from GitHub, quickly configure Claude Code, or Cursor (and others) to use it, and then in minutes be generating new UIs, applications and workflows running on top of your existing databases. Or, you can connect the pgEdge MCP Server to Claude Desktop and use it to make recommendations for scaling and performance improvements (as an example). We think the functionality is pretty cool, and we're looking forward to hearing what you think. ❓ Have questions, requests for features, or general feedback? We welcome any or all of it! Drop a comment below, or send us an email at community (at) pgedge.com, anytime. ⭐ Don't forget to star the project while you're there if you find it interesting! There's new features and development happening consistently, so it's worth keeping an eye on the repository to stay up-to-date. #rag #aidevelopment #aiapp #ai #artificialintelligence #openai #claude #ollama #postgres #opensource #foss #oss #devops #programming
