Building Cloud-Native GIS Workflows with GeoLibre
Title: Building Cloud-Native GIS Workflows with GeoLibre Time: Thursday, Sep 3, 2026 10:00-11:00 AM Eastern Time Abstract: Cloud-native geospatial technologies are transforming how we access, analyze, visualize, and share geospatial data. This webinar introduces GeoLibre (https://geolibre.app), a free and open-source cloud-native GIS platform that runs across web browsers, desktop and mobile devices, Jupyter Notebook, and R. Through practical examples, I will demonstrate how GeoLibre uses modern technologies such as COG, GeoParquet, PMTiles, DuckDB, and WebAssembly to work with large-scale vector, raster, and LiDAR data directly in the browser. The talk will also highlight GeoLibreโs plugin ecosystem, cross-platform capabilities, and emerging integration with GeoAI, illustrating how cloud-native GIS can make advanced geospatial analysis more accessible, scalable, and reproducible.
