Waiting for Approval: A Pop-Rap Song About Archon and AI Agents

"Hi! I fixed it. Can I push to main?" "Archon. Run paused. Waiting for approval." "Waiting for Approval" is a pop-rap song about an AI coding agent that gets put into Archon, the open-source workflow engine for AI coding agents, and now has to wait at a human approval gate before anything reaches main. Every joke is a real Archon feature: the YAML workflow on the wall, a worktree of its own, a bash test step with no AI in it, a test loop capped at five tries, three reviewers running in parallel (one crashes, the other two still finish), and "archon workflow approve". The robot from "All My Gates Are Passing", "It Should Work Now" and "You're Absolutely Right" is back. "No." What the song is about (all of it is real Archon): • A workflow is a YAML file: plan, build, test, review, then an approval step that waits for a human • By default every run gets its own git worktree on its own branch, so your main stays clean • The tests run in a bash step, no AI involved, and a loop repeats them until they pass, capped by max_iterations • Three reviewers run in parallel; when one crashes, the other two still finish and the run reports it • The run pauses at the gate until you approve it in the Archon console or with "archon workflow approve" plus the run ID • Every run leaves a log you can read afterwards • Archon runs your agents (Claude Code, Codex or Pi); it does not replace them • It's open source (MIT) and runs on your own machine How this music video was made: • The song: lyrics built from real Archon features, produced and sung with Suno AI • The Archon screens are real: the YAML is the actual demo workflow, and the console screenshots and terminal output come from two runs on my machine. The demo workflow is bash only, so no AI tokens were spent and nothing was pushed. The reviewer crash was set up on purpose. • The lyrics on screen: timed word by word to the vocals with faster-whisper, every cut snapped to the beat • The pictures: 47 clips, each a Nano Banana Pro keyframe animated with Kling 3.0 on Higgsfield • Me: the man in the red hoodie is generated from one real photo of me; the robot is still not real • The edit: an HTML composition rendered to video with HyperFrames, built and checked by Claude • The people, the robot and the control room are AI generated, which is why it says so in the top left corner of every frame Disclosure: I'm on the Archon team.
