ORA2PG: Migrating Oracle Databases to PostgreSQL

Migrating from Oracle to PostgreSQL is a journey many organizations are undertaking as they modernize their database infrastructure and embrace open source technologies. In this Dallas PostgreSQL User Group session from December 2024, Satish Shivaraju provides an overview of ORA2PG, one of the most widely used tools for assessing and migrating Oracle databases to PostgreSQL. The presentation covers migration planning, schema conversion, code assessment, compatibility considerations, and practical strategies for reducing risk during the migration process. Whether you're evaluating a move from Oracle to PostgreSQL or actively planning a migration project, this session offers valuable insights into how ORA2PG can help streamline the transition.
