𝗥𝗣𝗢 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟯 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀. 𝗥𝗧𝗢 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀. That’s what muilti-region failover can look like with Zilliz Global Cluster. Zilliz Global Cluster uses one primary cluster and multiple read-only secondary clusters across regions to support resilient vector search, low-latency local reads, and regional failover. In our latest webinar, Rohit walked through how Zilliz Global Cluster handles planned switchover and emergency failover differently: • 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 is used for planned changes like regional rotation or data residency. Users can manually promotes a synchronized secondary cluster to primary, while the application can briefly pause write traffic and coordinate the role switch for zero data loss. • 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 is a recovery action after a primary-region outage. It adds detection and decision time because the application first needs to confirm the regional failure and redirect traffic. ▶ Full Zilliz Global Cluster webinar replay: https://youtu.be/9n1I-Varui8
