Build an AI Contract Checker with LlamaParse in Python (Free Plan)
Build a practical PDF Deal Checker using LlamaParse, Python, and UV. In this tutorial, I show you how to parse contract PDFs, extract structured deal terms, apply deterministic Python rules, identify red flags, and generate reports with exact page references. We build the project from start to finish using LlamaParse Parse + Extract. The Deal Checker can: 📄 Parse PDFs, scanned documents, and contracts 🔍 Extract structured contract terms with Pydantic 🚩 Detect red flags using Python rules 📍 Show the exact pages where issues appear 📊 Generate CSV and PDF reports 💰 Estimate LlamaParse credit usage ⚡ Run everything from a simple CLI with UV I also show how to install the official LlamaParse agent skills and use them with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code. Finally, we expose the same workflow locally as an API using LlamaCTL and FastAPI Swagger UI. Although this example focuses on sponsorship contracts, the same approach can be adapted for invoices, leases, agreements, reports, and other document-processing workflows.
