Stop Using AI Only for Automation—Start Playing With It

Let the makers make. Lane Shackleton wrote that about three years ago, and he still thinks it holds. On the latest Talking AI clip, he explains what it protects against. There is usually a hesitancy, or a healthy skepticism, about whether a team really needs another new tool. Left in charge, that skepticism keeps people from ever getting their hands on anything. But he does not stop at permission. Making is the first half. Codifying what worked and teaching it to the rest of the team is the half almost nobody does, and it is exactly where today's tools are weakest. Give people room to make.
