However, Content Credentials do not inherently provide a complete or continuous from capture through distribution: credentials may be absent or stripped, and individual processing steps may go unrecorded. Verification establishes the integrity and signing source of the recorded assertions, rather than guaranteeing that those assertions or the media’s content are factually true.
