One Year, 2,000,000 Autonomous Drone Missions | Skydio Ascend 2026

This is the video that opened the Skydio Ascend 2026 keynote, cut from real missions flown over the past year. One police department now flies about 1,700 drone missions every month. Another city built the first citywide drone response program in the country. Public safety teams used drones to locate missing children, get eyes on a scene before officers arrived, and de-escalate calls that could otherwise have gone south. One suspect put it plainly: you cannot outrun a drone. Electric utilities flew during outages to inspect lines, find the fault, and restore power faster than a ground crew could reach it.
