Caldwell PD drone helped find 2 missing toddlers in 10 mins | Lifesaving Achievement Award Finalist

Two brothers, ages two and three, had been gone from their apartment complex for over an hour when the Caldwell Police Department launched Skydio X10. It was overhead before the first patrol car arrived, clearing canals and brush no one could see from street level. Both boys were found safe within ten minutes and reunited with their loved ones. This story is a finalist for the 2026 Aerial Achievement Award in the Lifesaving Achievement category, which recognizes missions where drone technology directly saved a life or prevented serious harm. Now in its third year, the awards span five categories honoring agencies putting autonomous flight to work in the field. Winners are announced at the Aerial Achievement Awards Dinner & Celebration during Ascend on September 23.
