Mati Staniszewski, co-founder and CEO of ElevenLabs, argues that as AI gets more capable, the bottleneck is how well it interacts with people. It needs EQ as well as IQ. With 22 official languages, 122 major ones and thousands of dialects, India is the hardest place to get that right, which is why he sees it as the place to solve it. He then shows the newest models from the ElevenLabs research team: • Dubbing v2, which hears the original performance and carries its emotion, energy and emphasis into the new language, shown on a podcast clip dubbed into several Indian languages • Eleven v4 performing a script full of delivery directions, in the voice of Raju, a voice actor in the ElevenLabs voice library who was in the room • Mati's own voice switching between Hindi, Kannada and Bengali in one generation. v4 supports 14 Indian languages today, with all 22 planned • Eleven v4 Turbo for voice agents, at 100 ms median latency • Real-time transcription of the classic Cello Butterflow ad, plus domain-tuned transcription starting with healthcare The second half is about ElevenAgents, where teams build, run and monitor conversational agents in over 90 languages. Agents on the platform now handle more than 15 million conversations a week, up 3x in six months, with forward deployed engineers in the region helping companies get them into production. Mati shares how Pocket FM, Razorpay, PhysicsWallah and Havells use ElevenLabs, and closes with two commitments in India: work with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities to restore voices lost to illness or injury, and a partnership with the Government of Karnataka on AI for citizen services.
