Sapna Rana: Getting Her Voice Back After ALS

Radio host Sapna Rana lost her voice to ALS. Now she's using it again with ElevenLabs. Then ALS took her voice. Using her old voiceovers and recordings, her friend Yogi recreated it with ElevenLabs, and the first reel in her own voice got two million views. At ElevenLabs Summit Bengaluru, Sapna joins Gabi Leibowitz, Head of Impact at ElevenLabs, to talk about losing her voice, learning to communicate with an eye gaze device, what it means to sound like herself again across languages, and her appeal for cheaper, better assistive devices. Gabi also shares the ElevenLabs Impact Program and its 1 Million Voices initiative. In India, ElevenLabs has partnered with five nonprofits and signed an MOU with the Coalition of the Willing, working with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and The Quantum Hub.
