GPT Image 2.5 (ChatGPT Images 2.5 on the consumer side) is a point release, not a 3. Nothing here is something GPT Image 2 couldn't do at all. What's changed is how reliably it edits, how fast it generates, and that there are now two versions to pick from. In this video, we break down what's new: • Two models. GPT Image 2.5 Flare is the default, described by OpenAI as their fastest model for everyday generation at half the latency of GPT Image 2. GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst is the one they call their most capable, built for when editing precision matters most, especially with reference images. It takes longer to generate. • Edits that are meant to change only what you asked for, even on busy subjects and backgrounds • Multi-round editing that holds, so each edit builds on the last without the image falling apart • Better reference fidelity. Upload a photo of yourself or your product and the subject stays recognisable. In our side-by-side, 2.5 Sunburst held the references noticeably better than GPT Image 2 on the first generation • Faster generation. OpenAI's number is up to 50% lower latency. We timed the same prompt at 2K, quality high, side by side in ElevenCreative Flows: Flare finished in 25 seconds, Sunburst in 42 seconds, and GPT Image 2 took 91 seconds. One test, but the gap is clear • Two new quality settings above high: xhigh and max.
