My AI-Built Warcraft Inspired RTS: Questions Answered (+ Real Gameplay)
Unofficial fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment - just inspired by the greatest game ever :-) My last video about the Warcraft-style RTS I'm building with AI got way more comments than I expected. Thank you! I read every single one, grouped them, and answer the most interesting questions here. And because "show us real gameplay" was the number one request: there are 17 minutes of early pre-alpha gameplay at the end. In this video: - When and where can you play it? - The criticism of the look, and my new workflow: ChatGPT concept → Tripo 3D → Blender → Unreal Engine 5 - Did I review the code? (~400k lines, rules instead of reviews: shared interfaces, automated tests, config files) - Which bugs are left, and why the hardest ones are design questions (RVO vs. my own unit avoidance) - Generated tests vs. measurable targets from Blender and Unreal - Why not 2D? - Why I keep upkeep - What it really cost: ~30 billion tokens, mostly cache reads, ~$13k at API prices, $200/month with Claude Code Max Chapters: 0:00 100+ comments, thank you! 0:24 The nice part 0:44 When can I play it? 1:05 The look & my new AI model workflow 1:44 Did I review the code? 2:35 Bugs, tests & targets 4:22 Why not 2D? 5:24 Remove the upkeep? 6:26 What did it really cost? 7:00 Gameplay (early pre-alpha) "Warcraft" is a trademark of Blizzard Entertainment.
