11 GitHub Repos Gained Almost 30,000 Stars in One Day. I Installed 8.
The whole of GitHub Trending on 10 October 2026: eleven repositories that picked up 29,714 new stars between them in one day. What each one does, who built it, how many people use it, how fast it's growing, and whether I installed it. Eight are now installed on my machine, for me, Claude Code and Codex. I didn't go looking for them. My new tab page found them: AI Homepage by Thariq Shihipar. The repositories, in the order of the video: AI Homepage (Thariq Shihipar): https://github.com/ThariqS/ai-newtab REA (morluto): https://github.com/morluto/rea Skills For Real Engineers (Matt Pocock): https://github.com/mattpocock/skills agent-skills (Addy Osmani): https://github.com/addyosmani/agent-skills diagram-design (Cathryn Lavery): https://github.com/cathrynlavery/diagram-design SwiftUI Pro (Paul Hudson): https://github.com/twostraws/SwiftUI-Agent-Skill knowledge-work-plugins (Anthropic): https://github.com/anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins Open Code Review (Alibaba): https://github.com/alibaba/open-code-review LiteLLM (BerriAI): https://github.com/BerriAI/litellm ArtCraft (Storyteller): https://github.com/storytold/artcraft LingBot-Map (Robbyant): https://github.com/Robbyant/lingbot-map AnyPS5 (boykopovar): https://github.com/boykopovar/AnyPS5 Installed for me, Claude Code and Codex: REA, Skills For Real Engineers, agent-skills, diagram-design, SwiftUI Pro, knowledge-work-plugins, Open Code Review and LiteLLM. Not installed: ArtCraft (a desktop app), LingBot-Map (needs an NVIDIA GPU with CUDA) and AnyPS5 (something you build, not install). Worth knowing: - Every number on screen was read from github.com or the GitHub API on the morning of 10 October 2026 (UK time). Star counts move by the minute. - Open Code Review's "one ninth of the token cost" and LiteLLM's "8 ms P95 at 1,000 requests per second" are the authors' own benchmarks. - AI Homepage sends a summary of your browsing history, and up to eight pages, to Anthropic's API with your own key. Its author calls it early and experimental. - REA: only point it at software you're allowed to take apart. AnyPS5 ships no keys, firmware or copyrighted software; you need to own the games. The narration is my own HeyGen voice clone, reading a script written from my brief. The background music was made with Google Gemini. No benchmark this time; the VisualForge results are still at https://visualforgebench.com 0:00 Intro 0:32 AI Homepage 1:16 REA 2:07 Matt Pocock: Skills For Real Engineers 3:00 Addy Osmani: agent-skills 3:40 Cathryn Lavery: diagram-design 4:39 Paul Hudson: SwiftUI Pro 5:15 Anthropic: knowledge-work-plugins 5:56 Alibaba: Open Code Review 6:44 BerriAI: LiteLLM 7:33 Storyteller: ArtCraft 8:07 Robbyant: LingBot-Map 8:41 boykopovar: AnyPS5 9:28 Close Which repository would you install first?
