I Made Claude Lazy on Purpose. It Wrote 44% Less Code (3 GitHub Repos)
Three GitHub repositories AI builders are starring right now: a plugin that makes your coding agent lazy (in a good way), HeyGen's engine that turns HTML into video, and a local voice studio that wants to replace ElevenLabs. Two of them I ran on my Mac. For each: what it does, how to install it, what happened when I used it, where it breaks, and whether it's worth your time. The repositories, in the order of the video: Ponytail (Dietrich Gebert): https://github.com/DietrichGebert/ponytail HyperFrames (HeyGen): https://github.com/heygen-com/hyperframes VoiceStudio (Palash Debnath): https://github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio What I tested: - Ponytail: the same task (a CSV export with a date filter for a small Node shop) given to Claude Opus 5.5 in Claude Code, twice without Ponytail and twice with it. With Ponytail: 22 lines instead of 38 and 41, and the only runs that wrote a test. It also accepted 30 February as a date. Two runs each is a tiny sample. - HyperFrames: one prompt to Claude Code made this video's 4K intro. 3 minutes 39 seconds, $1.21, 360 frames, no keyframes touched by hand. - VoiceStudio: not run. It needs about 10 GB on a Mac, plus room for each model, and this Mac had 24 GB free. Worth knowing: - Star counts were read from the GitHub API on 11 October 2026. They move by the minute. - Ponytail's "53% less code, 41% less time, 26% lower cost" are the author's own benchmark numbers. - HyperFrames installed 11 skills into my global Claude folder, not just the project. Check what lands. - VoiceStudio is AGPL-3.0, and its model weights have their own licences. Clone voices only with permission. The narration is my own HeyGen voice clone, reading a script written from my brief. HeyGen makes HyperFrames; nobody paid for this video. The background music was made with Google Gemini. 0:00 Cold open 0:30 Hello 1:02 Ponytail 2:17 Ponytail: my test 4:04 Ponytail: the catch 4:53 HyperFrames 5:56 HyperFrames: my test 7:00 HyperFrames: the catch 7:33 VoiceStudio 8:49 VoiceStudio: the catch 10:00 Close Which one would you install first?
