You Think You Understand Human in the Loop? NEIN - you do NOT
You probably do not understand Human in the Loop the way you think you do. In this video, I explain what actually happens during tool calling, why an LLM never directly executes your code, and where Human-in-the-Loop approval belongs in the execution flow. The key idea is simple: the model proposes a tool call, but your application decides whether the side effect is allowed to happen. A proper approval step should not be interpreted by the model as more text. It should be a deterministic check in your code: approved means execute, rejected means stop. This is especially important for tools that send emails, modify databases, delete data, trigger APIs, or create other real-world side effects. The historical visual reference is used purely as satire to represent an overly strict approval process. The video does not promote or endorse extremist ideology.
