I Gave My Local LLM Control of My PC - From Anywhe

What if your local LLM could do more than just chat? In this video, I demonstrate MaiaChat — an AI agent platform I’ve been building that lets you connect to locally running AI models and use them from almost anywhere through a web browser. I connect a local 27B model through LM Studio to MaiaChat and ask it to perform a real task on my computer: create a new folder on my desktop and generate files inside it. The model isn’t running in the cloud — it is running locally on my own hardware, while MaiaChat provides the interface, agent capabilities and controlled access to tools and files. With MaiaChat, the goal is to let you use platforms such as: • LM Studio • Ollama • MLX • Other local and remote LLM providers …and turn those models into useful AI agents rather than simple chatbots. You can access MaiaChat through a browser from another computer or device while your local AI continues running on your own machine. MaiaChat also allows you to create specialised AI agents, give them tools and permissions, and use them to perform real tasks — including working with files and interacting with connected computers.
